EIFFEL at American Geoscience Union (AGU) Conference 2023

Our EIFFEL Partner ECMWF, European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts participated at the American Geoscience Union (AGU) Conference 2023 held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA and online 11 - 15 December 2023.

More than 25,000 attendees from more than 100 countries convened to explore how Science Leads the Future. The conference welcomed a diverse community of scientists, students, journalists, policymakers, educators and organizations who are working towards a world where scientific discovery leads to scientific solutions.

Our colleague Siham El Garroussi attended the Conference and represented EIFFEL’s Pilot 5, Disaster Resilience: Drought, forest fire & pest risk assessment with an oral presentation entitled: “Quantifying the Impact of Climate Warming on Extreme Fire Risk in Europe: A Global Sensitivity Analysis Study using Machine Learning and Impact Response Surfaces” under the Session “Climate-Informed Risk Assessment for Extreme Events”.

Our Partner ECMWF was able to inform the AGU’s audience about EIFFEL Project emphasizing on the pilots’ results sharing valuable insights that sparked engaging discussions on disaster resilience among the attendees (NASA, University of California Merced, Columbia university, Washington State University etc)
