Our partner from the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) participated in the 23rd European Congress of Lepidopterology and 11th Forum Herbulot on the 25th – 29th of September in Orléans (France) with the main objective to present moth related forest pest outbreak probabilities to Lepidoptera experts.
During this 5-day conference Pilot 5: Disaster Resilience > Drought, forest fire & pest risk assessment attracted the interest of almost 100 Lepidoptera experts and students who had the opportunity to experience example in ecology and modelling population cycles of pest species.
The technical yet profound presentation ignited ideas for modelling and exchange of methods and contacts for future development of moth outbreak models.
